Thompkins, Aaron

Age 86 of Elmira, NY. He was born June 10, 1926 in Dublin, GA, son of the late Lanier and Eula Mae Thompkins and passed away peacefully at home after an extended illness. He and his longtime companion Annie T. had 11 children. He is survived by his children Roberta Harris, Lissie Ann, Grady Lee (Linda), Aaron (Sue) Thompkins, Jr., and Jim (Geraldine) Parks all of Elmira, James, Walter, Robert Thompkins and Alberta Thomas all of Georgia; 2 sisters Laniere Brown and Christine Rawls of PA; 2 brothers Gerald of New Jersey and Laron (Lola) of Dublin, GA; sisters-in-law Juanita Thompkins of Elmira and Lizzie Thompkins of New Jersey; 30 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandchild; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was predeceased by his longtime companion Annie T.; brothers Carlton, Elisha, Leo and Bill; sisters Lizzie Gilles and Evelene Sams; sons Curtiss and Valton. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Tuesday, November 20th from 10 to 11 am. His funeral and committal services will follow at 11 am. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
