Obituary of Alice M. Purvis

PURVIS, Alice M. (Ward) Age 86 of Wellsburg, NY. She was born January 29, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Oscar and Rose (Peppard) Ward and passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Alice was predeceased by her loving husband; Robert M. Purvis in 2006, as well as her son; James R. Purvis, and grandson; Jeremy R. Purvis. She is survived by her son; Russell (Nancy) Purvis, daughters; Marlene (Dan) Smith, and Wilma Redder, daughter in law; Theresa Chilson-Purvis, grandchildren; Charity (Kevin) Dollinger, Rachelle Purvis, Brittany (Ryan) Beach, Russell (Tonya) Purvis Jr., Calvin (Flo) Purvis, Ryan (Jessica) Purvis, Jordan Purvis, Hollie (Rich) Taylor, Daniel Canfield, Jonathan (Angela) Redder, Kimberly Redder, Chad (Mary) Purvis, Maureen Purvis, James Chilson-Purvis, Justin Chilson-Purvis, Theresa Chilson-Purvis, Donte Chilson-Purvis, Joseph Chilson-Purvis, great grandchildren; Courtney Dollinger, Brandon Meashall, Devin Dollinger, Ashley Purvis, Kailey Purvis, Adrianna Purvis, Hunter Purvis, Carter Purvis, Reggie Purvis, Jaden Costillo, Josiah Costillo, Brysen Beach, Oakley Beach, Michael Taylor, Aiden Taylor, Olivia Taylor, Kaylee Canfield, Constantine Morse, Jenessa Redder, Junas Chilson-Purvis, Izabella Chilson-Purvis, Chad Purvis II, Jessica Purvis, Makaela Purvis, Kiersten Purvis, Sarah Purvis, Jacob Paulo, Cobey Paulo, Shiann Paulo, Jeremy Paulo, Anthony Paulo, along with several nieces and nephews, including special nephew Leland Abernathy. Alice also leaves her adopted canine son, Scotty. She was a homemaker, mother, wife, grandmother, and comedian. Alice was loved and supported by her church family as well as the staff of the Southport McDonalds where she frequently visited. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake Street at Washington Ave., on Wednesday, January, 28th from 6 to 8 PM. Interment will take place in Glenwood Cemetery, Waverly at the convenience of the family. Those wishing to send flowers are requested to send live plants and arrangements so that Alice's family may continue to enjoy them long after her services.
