Obituary of Paul H. Osteen

OSTEEN, Paul H., Jr. Age 58 of Denton, TX, began his journey home on Sunday, March 1, 2015, after a long and courageous battle. Paul was born on June 12, 1956, in Elmira, NY to Paul H. & Frances (Scheid) Osteen, Sr. He was predeceased by his father, Paul; mother-in-law & father-in-law, Margaret & Leslie Buchholz; brother-in-law Leslie Buchholz Jr. and niece, Jessica Osteen. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Mary (Buchholz); son, Paul (PK); daughter, Christina; grandson and best buddy, Tyler (TJ); mother, Frances; sisters, Patricia Osteen & Tracy (Gary) Courtney; several brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as his faithful companions Sam, Maggie, Sarah, Tippy and Squirt. Paul worked for many years in the railcar industry, most recently, 15 years at KinkiSharyo USA, where he was a Field Site Manager in Dallas, TX. Paul spent many evenings and weekends with his grandson TJ, watching baseball games and practices. He enjoyed hunting, NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankee Baseball. Paul was a member of Armadillo Chapter of the Lone Star Dutch Oven Society. He was an avid cast iron collector and cook. Family and friends are invited to visit at Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Friday, March 6th from 7-9pm and on Saturday, March 7th from 11am - 1pm. A celebration of Paul's life will follow at 1pm. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Paul has requested casual attire. A reception will follow services at the White Eagles Club, 364 Millard St, Elmira, NY 14901.
