Obituary of Peter J. Duchy

Duchy, Peter J., Age 65 of Elmira Heights, NY, Wednesday, September 9th, 2015, is safely home after a courageous battle against kidney cancer. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Anna and Michael Duchy and his 'favorite' mother-in-law, Virginia Graham. Survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Marie (Graham) Duchy, son Peter M. Duchy of Buffalo, NY, cherished grandson, Kerrick M. Duchy; brother and sister-in-law Walter & Christine Duchy of High Point, NC; sister Stella (Duchy) Houseknecht of Coconut Creek, FL; sister and brother-in-law Kathy & Rolando Navarro of Land O'Lakes, FL; brother & sister-in-law Joe & Ruthie Duchy of Horseheads, NY; brothers- and sisters-in-law James & Kathy Graham of Elmira, NY, Kenneth & Marlene Graham of Round Rock, TX, Tom Graham of Elmira, NY, Richard & Susan Graham of Los Angeles, CA, Joe Graham of Elmira, NY and Mike & Lonie Graham of Simpsonville, SC. Pete was a veteran of the US Army (Staff Sergeant-Communications Specialist) serving in Korea during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Corning Community College (1973) and Elmira College (1979). He was a dedicated Supervisor for the Ingersoll Rand/Dresser-Rand Company for 40 years. Family and friends are invited to visit at Ss. Peter & Paul Church, 556 St. Joseph's Boulevard, Elmira, NY, on Saturday, September 12th from 9:00 to 10:15AM. His Mass of the Christian Burial will begin at 10:30AM. Military honors at Woodlawn National Cemetery will follow with burial at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to CareFirst (Hospice), 3805 Meads Creek Rd., Painted Post, NY 14870 or Blessed Sacrament Parish, 1010 Davis Street, Elmira, NY 14901. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the family.
