Obituary of Marguerite Opelt

OPELT, Marguerite M. "Marnie" (Hogan) Age 89 of Big Flats, NY. She was born November 21, 1925 in Elmira, NY, daughter of the late William and Christina (Rohde) Hogan, and passed away Friday, October 16, 2015 at Arnot Ogden Hospital after a courageous battle. She had been a resident at St. Joseph's Nursing Facility for many years. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband LeRoy Opelt. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Glen Stevenson of Big Flats, NY; her son Timothy Opelt of Flower Mound, TX; granddaughters Megan and Jessica Burns; grandsons Colin and Ryan Opelt; and nieces and nephews. Marnie enjoyed golfing, sewing, crafts and bridge. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake Street at Washington Avenue, Elmira, on Tuesday, October 20th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Prayers will be offered there on Wednesday, October 21st at 9:15 am followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads. Reverend Christopher Linsler, Celebrant. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
