Obituary of Amelia M. Caporiccio

CAPORICCIO, Amelia M. (Millie) age 82 of Elmira, NY. She was born April 6, 1933 in Elmira, daughter of the late Justin and Rose (Mandell) Arcangelo and passed away peacefully, after a brief illness Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Bethany Manor surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband James A. Caporiccio in 1965 and longtime companion, Richard Fiske in 2012 and is survived by her children John (Nettie) Caporiccio of Elmira, Joseph Caporiccio of Elmira, Jason (Kathy) Caporiccio of Syracuse, NY, James Caporiccio of Middletown, NY, Judd (Maryellen) Caporiccio of PA and Julie (James) Beechey of VA; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Millie was a lifelong homemaker, taking care of her home and family. For many years, she was involved in Elmira politics as a member of the "5th Ward Freedom Fighters". She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Parish, attending St. Anthony's Church and then Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Wednesday, November 4th from 3 to 7 pm. Prayers will be offered there on Thursday, November 5th at 9:30 am followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Rev. Richard Farrell, Celebrant. Committal prayers and interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. Her family thanks Bethany Manor, Skilled 3, for the wonderful care they provided her there.
