Obituary of Barbara Ann Baker

BAKER, Barbara Ann (Snyder) Age 72 of Big Flats, NY. She was born October 31, 1943 in Elmira, NY, daughter of the late Charles F. and Anna E. (Samchishen) Snyder and passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center surrounded by her family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased her brother: Robert Snyder. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years: Ivan D. Baker, her son: Michael (Carmella) Baker of Horseheads, brother: Richard Snyder of Corning, aunt: Dorothy Samchishen of Elmira Heights, uncle: Steve Samchisen of Breesport, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Barbara was employed by A&P Foods, serving several positions there from the opening of the plant to 1977. She loved taking care of her family, her dogs, and feeding the wildlife. Barb had a passion for gardening as well as crafts that included crocheting and ceramics. Private services will be held; Barbara will be laid to rest in Rural Home Cemetery in Big Flats.
