Obituary of John R. Lewis

LEWIS, John R. age 74 of Marceline, MO, formerly of 856 Lake St., Elmira, NY. He was born on August 23, 1941 in Elmira, son of the late James T. and Anna Marie (Kerwer) Lewis and passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Life Care Center, Brookfield, MO. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother George. John is survived by a daughter Mary Lewis Tate and husband Jeremy of Marceline, MO; son Karl Richard Lewis and wife Melissa of New Bern, NC; sister-in-law Lisa Lewis; nephew Ronald Lewis and wife Patti along with nine grandchildren. John lived his entire life in Elmira at 856 Lake St. until he moved to Missouri to be with his daughter. He had worked as a circus performer and animal trainer and was a member of the New Life Assembly of God Church in Elmira. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Thursday, December17th from 12 to 1 pm. His funeral service will be held at 1 pm. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
