Obituary of Francis C. Gilmour

GILMOUR, Francis C. Age 90 of Elmira, NY. He was born March 21, 1925 in Ogdensburg, NY, son of the late Carl and Ruth (Harper) Gilmour and passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Elcor Health Services. He was predeceased by his sister Jean. Fran is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Lola; daughters LuAnn Gilmour and Darlene Chalk both of Elmira; grandsons John (Rosa) Chalk of PA, Andrew (Johntell) Chalk and Matthew Chalk both of Elmira; 5 great grandchildren along with several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Francis was employed with Remington Rand for 25 years and retired from Diamond Cleaners after 30 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Sunday, December 20th from 1 to 4 pm. His funeral service will follow at 4 pm. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
