Obituary of Joyce I. Horton

HORTON, Joyce I. Age 80 of Elmira, NY. She was born September 3, 1935 in Elmira, NY, daughter of the late Joseph P. Graham and Katherine E. Horton (Burns) and passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her stepfather, Kenneth Horton; son, Aubrey Loucks; and her aunts, Jane Green and Mary Smith. Joyce is survived by her son, Charles Franklin (Cheryl) Loucks; daughters, Vanessa Renee (Stacie), Babette Irene (Meredith), Glenda Eleanor (Denise) and Ursula Elizabeth; grandchildren, Torcassa, Jennifer, Quentin, Aubrey, Dele, Cherelle, James, Charles IV , Samiah, Kelan, and Jaquan; and her special great grandchild, Jordyn Kiah; along with a host of other great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joyce graduated from SUNY Delhi with a degree in Nutrition. She worked as a dietician at St. Joseph's Hospital and Arnot Ogden Medical Center before retiring after 30 plus years. She also worked as a consultant for various adult care facilities in the area. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave. in Elmira, on Tuesday, February 23rd, from 4 to 6 pm. Her service and committal prayers will be held at 6 pm.
