Obituary of Sally B. Morgan

MORGAN, Sally B. (Baker) Age 78 of Elmira, NY. She was born January 27, 1938 in St. Augustine, FL, daughter of the late Isaac "Ike" and Sally (Hunter) Baker and went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 5, 2016. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Sgt. Kenneth Morgan in 1984 and her daughter Vanessa L. Morgan in 1991; and her brothers, James Gaethers and Oscar Baker. She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Morgan of Elmira; sisters Jerusha Whitty of Elmira and Betty Williams of New Smyrna, FL; grandchildren, Chauaron Morgan and Kenneth Maurice Morgan; eleven great grandchildren; step-mom Marie Baker; sisters-in-law, Grace Brown, Dorothy (Melvin) Smith and special niece Dorcel (Dennis) Spence, all of Delaware, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Sally was formerly employed by New York Telephone for 17 years; she retired from the Chemung ARC, where she worked as a Resident Counselor. She was a member of St. Paul's Missionary Baptist Church in Elmira. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Madison Ave. in Elmira, on Friday, March 11th from 11 am to noon. A Home Going service will follow at noon. Minister Keith Dangerfield will officiate. Interment and committal prayers will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery following the service. .
