Obituary of Dona Maye Saltzgiver

SALTZGIVER, Dona Maye (Frye) Age 78 of Elmira, NY. She was born June 3, 1937 in Albia, IA, daughter of the late Joseph and Dora Margaret (Hafer) Wallner and passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and John. She is survived by her loving husband of, 55 years Avon O. Saltzgiver; her daughters, Deborah (David) Smith, Angel Saltzgiver, Cheri Saltzgiver-Andrus and Joli Saltzgiver and Adam Wheeler; brothers, William (Loretta) Steele, Joe Jr., Paul, Michael, and Arthur; grandchildren, Shavon (Mike) Privetts, Michael (Meghan) Schrock, Kaci Burnell, Cody Lunfelt, Jillian Mettler, Monty Brockway, Jenna Saltzgiver and Jason Samuels; dear great grandchildren, McKenzie, Dylan, Davyn, Rowan, Codi Mae, Logan, and Calix. Dona was a very talented artist; she taught painting and was employed by Family Services of Chemung County as well as teaching private classes. Dona's family requests that anyone who has a painting of Dona's please bring that painting to her services to display her great talent. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira, on Thursday March 17th from 2 to 4 pm. Her funeral service will follow at 4 pm. Interment and committal prayers will be offered on Friday, March 18th at 10am in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
