Obituary of Robert J. Wandricke

WANDRICKE, Robert J. (Bob-Wandy) Age 82 of Elmira, NY passed away on the morning of Thursday, April 28, 2016. He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Barbara (Baxter) Wandricke; daughter Susan (Wandricke) Nayavich, son-in-law James Nayavich, and 2 grandsons Robbie Nayavich and Dylan Nayavich. He is also survived by sister-in-law Betty Bly of Hinsdale, NY; brother-in-law Gerry Baxter and sister-in-law June Baxter both of Elmira. He was predeceased by his son Robbie Wandricke on January 5, 1983, parents Albert and Dorothy Wandricke of Millport; father-in-law and mother-in-law Norman and Elizabeth Baxter of Elmira, sisters-in-law Connie Baxter, Shirley (Hannah) Yeomans, Lillian Bean all of Elmira; brothers-in-law Stanley Bean, Ray Yeomans and Don Baxter all of Elmira. Known affectionately as "Uncle Bob", he also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and several friends. Bob served in the U.S. Army from 1954 – 1957 at the end of the Korean War. He was employed as a mold maker by Thatcher Glass in Elmira Heights for 47 years. He took great pride in being a grandfather to his grandsons. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Friday, May 6th from 6 to 9 pm. His funeral service will be held there on Saturday, May 7th at 10 am. Committal prayers and interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery where he will be laid to rest near his son Robbie. .
