Obituary of Clara B. Koenigsmark

KOENIGSMARK, Clara Beverly (Bachman) Of Bethany Village, Horseheads, New York, passed away December 17th, 2012, 24 days after her ninetieth birthday, a festive day celebrated at Bethany with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was born in Washington D.C. on November 23, 1922, the daughter of Byers McKinney Bachman and Clara Willis. She was predeceased by her loving husband of fifty-eight years, Paul Morris Koenigsmark, in 2002. She is survived by her son Stephen Koenigsmark (Kathy) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, her daughter Cindy Koenigsmark Hayden (Carl) of Elmira and her son Jeffrey Koenigsmark of Suffield, Connecticut. She was blessed with seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. After raising her children, Beverly took employment in real estate and banking and devoted countless hours to various charitable organizations, including the American Red Cross, the University of Connecticut Health Center and Easter Seals. In her retirement, she and Paul travelled the world. She was a talented painter of theorems, and her work was much in demand. She was particularly proud of her membership of more than half a century in the Daughters of the American Revolution. It was Beverly's request that all services be held privately and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, Sullivan Trail Chapter, 911 Stowell St., Elmira, NY 14901 or Care First, 11751 E. Corning Rd., Corning, NY 14830. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the family.
