Obituary of John J. Hayes

HAYES, John J. Age 72 of Elmira, NY. He was born February 29, 1940 in Elmira, son of the late Patrick J. and Marie T. (Daly) Hayes and passed away Friday, August 31, 2012 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center after an extended illness. He is survived by his children Keith M. Hayes of Elmira and Kimberly A. (Patmon) Malcom; grandchildren Ella Grace Malcom and Patmon Malcom, Jr. all of Alpharetta, GA; very good friend Marilyn J. Welles of Elmira along with other friends and classmates. John graduated from Notre Dame High School, Class of 1957. He retired from HSBC Bank as Vice President after 37 years of service. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Tuesday, September 4th from 4 to 7 pm. His funeral and committal services will follow at 7 pm. Interment will take place in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember John through donations to the Falck Cancer Center. His family would like to thank Dr. Dauphin and the nursing staff at Falck Cancer Center for their wonderful care.
