Obituary of Howard Carl

CARL, Howard R. age 78 of Elmira, NY. He was born November 8, 1938 in Tioga, PA, son of the late Paul and Irene (Brimmer) Carl and passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Elcor Health Services. He was predeceased by his sister June Taylor; brothers Gordon, Keith, Robert and Ronald Carl; brother and sister-in-law Stanley and Linda Carl. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jacquelyn (Durfee) Carl; children and their spouses Nicole and Craig Colwell of Elmira, Adam and Charity Carl of Pine City, Brent and Bonnie Carl of CT, Michael and Wendy Carl of FL, Howard Jr and Sharon Carl of NC, Cynthia Carl of TX, Laura Perry of NC and Wendy Valimont of Elmira; several grandchildren including Cassidy and Matthew Byerly, Caleb Colwell and Joseph Stratton; brother and sister-in-law Larry and Phyllis Carl of Owego, NY; sisters and brothers-in-law Ruth and John Barnes of Elmira, Margaret and Ray Kastenhuber of Spencer, NY and Laura Cornwell of Interlaken, NY; sisters-in-law Linda Carl of Tioga, PA and Laura Carl of Elmira along with several nieces and nephews. Howard was a member of the Victory Highway Wesleyan Church. He retired from Purolator Products and was employed with the Elmira City School District. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Sunday, November 20th from 4 to 7 pm. His funeral service will be held there on Monday, November 21st at 11 am. Rev. Micheal Spencer will officiate. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
