Obituary of William H. Craven

CRAVEN, William H. "Bill" Age 81 of Elmira Heights, NY. He was born June 30, 1935 in Elmira, son of the late Ernest and Frances (Barton) Craven and passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016 at home. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Thomas, Bernard and Carl Craven and sister Louise Wilfert. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Grace (Schultz) Craven; children Carolyn and Mark O'Donal of Painted Post, Timothy Craven of Elmira Heights, Margaret "Peggy" Craven of Pine City and Raymond and Stacie (Talada) Craven of NC; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great, great granddaughter; brother James (Jenny) Craven of Elmira; sister Mary (Ron) Keck of FL; foster children Neisha, Michele, Celena and CJ along with several nieces and nephews. Bill was a member of the Breesport Methodist Church. He retired as a heavy equipment operator with Operating Engineers Local 832, Rochester and then was employed with the Erin Highway Dept. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during Korea and was a member of the Horseheads American Legion and the Horseheads Moose Club. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Saturday, November 26th from 1 to 3 pm. His funeral service will follow at 3 pm. Rev. Chip Posse will officiate. Interment will take place in Hilltop Cemetery, Breesport at the convenience of the family.
