Obituary of Ann H. Barone

BARONE, Ann H. age 86 of Elmira, NY. She was born December 20, 1930 in Elmira, daughter of the late John and Loretta (Wachowiak) Hurley and passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. She was predeceased by her husband Victor in 2007 and sisters and brother-in-law Marian Bristow , Ellen and Frank Kubiak. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Kathleen and Kevin Anderson, Karen and Michael Lepkoske all of Elmira; grandchildren Kristen Tremblay of Elmira, Keri & Brian Bednarski of Horseheads, Ashley & Derrick Oatmeyer and Marissa & Kyle Gletow all of Folsom, CA; great grandchildren Joseph & Jordyn Tremblay of Elmira, Alexia & Camden Bednarski of Horseheads, Evan & Olivia Oatmeyer of Folsom, CA; brother-in-law Charles Bristow of FL; sister-in-law Wilma Barone of Elmira Heights along with several nieces and nephews. Ann was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church. She retired from Yunis Enterprises. Ann was a lifelong Yankees fan. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She was loved by her children and grandchildren and will be dearly missed. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Friday, February 3rd from 4 to 7 pm. Prayers will be offered there on Saturday, February 4th at 9:30 am followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Mary’s Church. Fr. John DeSocio, Celebrant. Committal prayers and interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, whose wishing may remember Ann through donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 435 E. Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620. Her family thanks the 4th floor staff at the Chemung County Nursing Facility for the care they provided her, especially Kristie, Jennifer and Rochelle.
