Obituary of Gloria Jones

JONES, Gloria T. Age 54 of Elmira, NY. She was born August 18, 1958 in Princeton, NJ, daughter of the late Roberta and Roosevelt Jones and went to be with her parents Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She attended EFA and provided childcare throughout the Elmira area. Gloria had a passion for children and enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino. She disliked bugs and needles- going to the doctor was like pulling teeth. Her nieces and nephews called her "Aunt T". Gloria never met a stranger. She had many friends who loved her dearly, especially her buddy Charise. She was kind to people, but if you crossed her, you would know it. Gloria has extended family in Akron and Columbus, OH. Her memory will live within the hearts of her son LaMar Swarez and grandson Haydon, whom she loved dearly, both of Elmira; brothers Roosevelt, Jr. and James (Jackie) Jones; sisters Bettye (Reggie) Wells and Pamela (Sonny) Whitehurst all of Columbus, OH along with a host of nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Friday, January 25th from 2 to 3 pm. Her funeral and committal services will follow at 3 pm. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
