Obituary of Bridget A. Hegedus

HEGEDUS, Bridget (Modaffari)

of Elmira Heights passed away peacefully and went into the arms of our Lord on November 23, 2017.  She was born December 2, 1971 in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of Francis and Maureen Modaffari. She was a graduate of Penn Yan Academy Class of 1990 and attended Suny Brockport where she studied Criminal Justice. She married Vencent Hegedus in 2009. Bridget will be remembered as a dear sister to 8 siblings and an exceptional mother to her only son Jamil Modaffari of Pueblo, Colorado. She was a dedicated wife to her husband Vencent; she devoted herself to her family and her faith. Bridget enjoyed sight-seeing and most of all the holidays. She loved training her darling turtle “Marcus”.  Bridget was a loving, outgoing and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed and left lasting memories to all close to her. She also enjoyed family time with her in-laws. She is survived by her parents Francis and Maureen Modaffari; son, Jamil Modaffari; spouse, Vencent Hegedus; siblings Renee Ehrhardt, Beth Stranges, Eileen Modaffari, Francis Modaffari, Jeanette Rittenhouse, Peter D Modaffari, Joseph Modaffari, Ruth Modaffari and several nieces and nephews whom Bridget adored. Bridget leaves behind lifetime friends Michelle Morris and Robin Andrews. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Wednesday, November 29th from 10 am to 12 noon. Her funeral service will be held at 12 noon. Committal prayers and interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery.
