Being a child around Grandma Alice Weston; was magical....She was a true tour guide of life.
She was so good at helping you dive into the micro details of whatever at hand. It could be me asking about her favorite place she had visited? Wich could on occasion turn into hours at the dining room table with her wonderful photos. Or....me bringing in an antique to ask about, after hiding in the magic of Westons house of antique's.
Grandma sure had a way of utilizing time like that.
Like the way she waived to everyone while driving and said hi to everyone when we got to where we were stopping next. I loved to run errands with Grandma, especially being her visitor from the Arizona Sonoran desert.
My two favorite faces were when I was lucky enough to surprise her with our visit in for Christmas! ,grandma loved father Christmas & I love citrus even more cause she used to put oranges in our stockings. The other look she would give me while we made multiple batches of fudge....I'm doing the stirring.
Some of you here share this memory no doubt.
Grandma loved to make goodies. ....if you ever had the pleasure of watching jeopardy with her, you knew that She was a veratious reader, well travelled and a sponge for the cultures of life. As a passionate music lover I asked myself & I don't remember grandma playing to much music....but I always heard it, cause we always made some.
I would bet everyone in this room would raise their hand that Alice gave you the best hug of your life!
Or even taught you to hug the full on way.
Wether she took the time to teach you how to dive into the details of her orchids, while she told me about them it was like looking at a whole galaxy with her. Be it grandchild, child, sibling, Love of her life Or just the next up ...you were luck and uplifted by her. Alice Weston through my eyes you were As selfless as one could ..while knowing herself as well as she did. She made her grandmother proud by being the one of a kind flower She always will be - I Love all of You & I Love You forever Grams. Love Your proud grandson Zac
