Obituary of Michael E. Parker

PARKER, Michael "Mikey" Eladio Parker Age 16, of Horseheads, NY and formerly of Wilmington, NC and Middletown, NY. Born February 3, 2002, son of Michael Parker and Erin Myers, Mikey passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2018 with family by his side at Strong Memorial Hospital. Mikey is predeceased by his grandparents, Eladio Ramos and William "Papi" Myers. In addition to his parents he is survived by his siblings, Casey and Cameron Myers; grandparents Evelyn Parker and Pamela Myers; stepmother Nicole Aloi; aunts and uncles Ryan Myers, Gina and Frank Bombolino, Philip Willsey and Jaqueline Manning, and Robert and Rose Willsey; cousins Shane and Christopher Parra, Anthony Manning and Bella Willsey, Cameron Willsey, Eric, Ryan, and Ethan Willsey, along with many dear friends. Michael attended Holly Shelter Middle School and E.A. Laney High School in Wilmington, NC, as well as Elmira City Schools and finally Horseheads High School. He was also avid in his church attendance throughout his life; Mikey was a member of Family Church in Middletown, NY, Liberty Bible Church in North Carolina, and most recently he dedicated himself to His Tabernacle Family Church in Horseheads. Music was Mikey's passion. He found outlets in Marching and Concert band, writing his own songs, and singing during church. Mikey also loved participating in JROTC. Losing Mikey is a tragedy; he was deeply loved by his family and friends. He had a smile that would light up a room. There was so much love in him. Mikey loved singing praises to his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. We will miss him always, but we know he is in Heaven now. We will see him again one day. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks for all those who have supported Mikey and his family with prayers and generosity. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Thursday June 7th 2018 from 5 pm to 7 pm. Mikey's funeral service will follow at 7 pm. Private committal and burial will take place with Mikey's family.
