Obituary of James R. Tenny

TENNY, James R., Sr. Age 66 of Elmira, NY. He was born November 9, 1946 in Elmira, son of the late William and Florence (Baker) Tenny and went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 1, 2013. He was predeceased by his sister Joanne and brothers Bill, Chuck and Dick Tenny. Jim is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rita; son James, Jr. (Tracy) of Brooks, GA; daughter Sandie (Patrick) Sullivan of Elmira; grandchildren Patrick, Alexis and Aaron Sullivan, Samantha Bower along with 5 great grandchildren; sisters Sharon (Earl) Bush of Erin and Linda Tenny of Horseheads; brothers Harvey of Elmira and Harold of NC; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Chuck and Joan Ruhmel, Jack and Mary Yusko and Ray Ruhmel along with several nieces and nephews. Jim worked for a number of years at Hardinge, Inc., Citgo service station and most recently as a crossing guard. A man of few words, Jim will be missed by his friends at the White Eagles Club and Mimi's. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Monday, March 4th from 4 to 7 pm. His memorial service will follow at 7 pm.
