Obituary of Rose T. Lux

LUX, Rose Theresa (Momma Rose) age 95 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 29, 2018 unexpectedly surrounded by her family. Rose was predeceased by her husband Earl Lux; parents Carl and Josephine Bauman; daughter Mary Theresa Simpson; grandsons Jamie Galpin and Anthony Lewis; sisters Frannie Dunklin and Lena Jenkins; brother Carl Bauman, Jr. Rose was a very loving and caring person. She loved her children, especially her grandchildren and any child who came into her life. She had a heart of gold. Rose is survived by her children George (Julia) Lewis, Linda Galpin, Thomas Simpson, Carol (Ray) Brock; sisters and brothers Diane (Ken) Baker, Phyllis Fairbanks, Beverly (Don) Sawyer, Doug (Eleanor) Bauman, Frank Bauman, Duane (Patricia) Bauman; grandchildren Katrere (Tony) Bradley, Stephanie, Julie, Tesha and Michelle Lewis, Joe, Brandon and Matt Townson, Katie (Wayne) Parsons and Anthony (Allysa) Galpin along with several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; special friends Raymond and Ron Heffron, who gave her the name "Momma Rose". She is going to be greatly missed and was such a blessing in everyone's lives who knew her. Family and friends are invite to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Monday, October 8th from 11 am to 1 pm. Her funeral service will be held at 1 pm. Rev. Richard Farrell will officiate. Committal prayers and interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery with a benefit to follow at the VFW, 113 Keefe St., Elmira from 2 to 7 pm.
