Obituary of James J. Daugherty

DAUGHERTY, James J., Sr.

Age 69 of Elmira, NY. He was born August 7, 1949 in Sayre, PA, son of the late Willard and Shirley (Orshal) Daugherty and passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 unexpectedly. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Danny and Ronnie. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Connie; children and their spouses James, Jr. and Tara, Cathleen(Daugherty) and Jason Rice, Christopher and Heather; grandchildren Stephen (Briana) Storch, Lilly Rice, Hannah, Elizabeth and Olivia Daugherty, Jeffery and Zachary Daugherty; great grandson Cayde James Storch all of Elmira; brothers Willard (Barb) Daugherty II and Ralph (Debbie) Daugherty; sister Elizabeth "Jean" Derr all of Odessa, NY along with several nieces and nephews. Jim was an auto body technician with Daugherty's Body Shop in Odessa for 45 years. He was also employed with American LaFrance and Schweizer Aircraft. He enjoyed watching his son and grandson race. He enjoyed his family camping trips and he especially loved all the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren, he was so proud of them all. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Wednesday, December 26th from 5 to 7 pm. His memorial service will follow at 7 pm. Deacon George Welch will officiate.
