BARONE, Anne (Gilboy)

Age 91 of Elmira, NY. She was born September 29, 1927 in Scranton, PA, daughter of the late George and Irene (McCormick) Gilboy and passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph M. Barone, Sr, daughter Joanne and son Paul. She is survived by her children and their spouses Joseph, Jr., Andrew and Matthew Barone, Martin and Tina Barone all of Elmira, Angela and Mark Obuhanych of Canandaigua, NY; grandchildren Angelique (Kurtis) Duryea, Aleksasha (Andrew) Scolaro, Ashley, Brittany, Michael and Macie Barone, Olivia and Zachary Obuhanych; great grandchildren Joseph, Piper & Quinn Duryea, Alexis & Aubrey Cantliffe, Dominick & Whitney Scolaro and Jah'vier Dyck; brothers and sisters-in-law George & Alice Gilboy of Zephyrhills, FL, Paul & Lorraine Gilboy of Elmira; sister Rose Ortell of Elmira along with several nieces and nephews. Anne was a communicant of the Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish. She retired from Pharmhouse/Nichols Discount City and was formerly employed at Chemung Canal Trust Company. Grandma (Mimi) was especially loved by all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They loved visiting her house, where they would always be welcomed with open arms, a hand crocheted afghan, and a full candy dish. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Monday, January 14th from 4 to 7 pm. Prayers will be offered there on Tuesday, January 15th at 9:30 am, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Rev. Scott Kubinski, Celebrant. Committal prayers and interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
