Obituary of Charles Glasgow Jr.
Charles Glasgow Jr., age 22, was born in Elmira, NY on February 14, 1996 and unexpectedly passed away February 10, 2019. He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather Eldon L. Brooks Jr. and is survived by his parents Michelle Brooks of Elmira, NY and Charles Glasgow Sr. of Brooklyn, NY, along with his siblings Nikki Cayne (Marcques Cayne) of Raleigh, NC, Nicholas Brooks Jr. of Elmira, NY, Nishelle Majors (Rayland Majors) of Raleigh, NC, Candice Williams and Diane Glasgow of Brooklyn, NY, and Nateece Brooks of Elmira, NY. Chuck is also survived by his uncles, Michael Brooks of Elmira, NY, & Davon Hammond of Bronx, NY; his aunts, Antoinette Brooks of Elmira, NY, Marguerite Brooks of Fayetteville, NC, Theresa Glasgow, Diane Glasgow, Renee Glasgow, Neil Glasgow, Denise and Gail Glasgow, all of Virginia; his dear friends, Alex Carrigan, Delonte' Hubert, House & best friend/companion Aaliyah Griswold of Elmira, NY; a host of friends, cousins, nephews and one special niece Niasha Majors. Chuck was a caring and loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson, and friend. A true and authentic soul, with a hustler's mentality. One who prided himself in being a protective and strong support system for his family. He was a protector! If you were around him, you felt safe and all of the love he had to give. Chuck and his brother Nick shared a bond like no other. They were always together and ready to defend one another. Chuck was well respected throughout Elmira and his joyful spirit was infectious and resonated within us all. Chuck was adventurous; he loved riding his four wheelers, dirt bikes, snowboard and anything dangerous! That man could take anything apart and put it back together almost instantly. He sure was a handyman. One of his most important accomplishments and proud moments, in his eyes was getting his new house fixed! He was so proud to be so young and to have worked so hard to have everything to show for it. He loved his cars! He often said riding around made him feel free. That's where he'd listen to the loudest of loud music, so loud the neighborhood heard him everywhere he went & knew when he was coming. Charlie loved animals, especially his dogs, god he loved them. They were family as far as he was concerned. So we celebrate the time he spent on this earth & with us, filling our lives with everything good he could give us. Grandma Brooks… "Charlie had a God given spirit, a cheerful & loving spirit. I know that he is with God". Family and friends are invited to Faith Temple C.O.G.I.C., on the corner of Harper and Sullivan Streets, Elmira, on Tuesday, February 19th from 10 to 11:00 am. Chuck's funeral service will begin there at 11am. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira.
