Obituary of Evelyn Joy Finch

FINCH, Evelyn Joy age 62 of Elmira, NY. She was born August 9, 1956 in Elmira, daughter of the late Robert E. and Catherine (O'Dell) Alington and passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019 unexpectedly after a brief illness. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Keith and Danny and mother-in-law Doris Finch. She is survived by her loving husband of 24 year, the one she waited to find, Gary; cherished son Thomas, who is the love of her life; step daughter Crystal Finch of Elmira; sister Echo Massey; brothers and sisters-in-law Robert & Diana Alington, Wayne & Sandra Alington all of Elmira; father-in-law & mother-in-law Mike & Marylou Finch of Elmira Heights; sisters-in-law Jackie Early of Millerton and Sherry Merritt of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; brother-in-law & sister-in-law Loren & Ann Finch of Elmira, along with several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was a cook at the Elbow Room for over 25 years. A memorial service will be held later, at a time to be announced.
