Obituary of Josie M. Scharborough

SCHARBOROUGH, Josie of Middletown, CT, went to be with our Lord peacefully while at Robert Packer Hospital on Thursday October 10, 2019. Josie is predeceased by her father Edward Scharborough; mother Avery Perry; daughter April Scharborough; sister Carrie Butler; brothers Milton Smith, Moses Scharborough, John Scharborough and Henry Jackson. She is survived by sisters Louise Robinson of Elmira, Bessie (Joseph) Hughes of Elmira, Annette Wickes of Elmira, Kathleen Scharborough of Elmira and Vera (John) Wood. Sister-in-laws Ira Scharborough, Rhea Scharborough and Terry Jackson, all of Elmira. Grandchildren Tyron Scharborough; Brandy Scharborough; Danielle Scharborough. Goddaughter Carol Marie Jackson of North Carolina. Eight great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Josie loved all of her family and especially truly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved Pastor Graham and her church, she helped in any way she could, anyone that came to her door in need. Josie was truly a special lady. Family and friends are invited to visit at Shabach Tabernacle, 1133 Lake St., Elmira, on Friday, October 18th from 10 to 11:30 am. A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 am. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Repass will take place in the fellowship hall at the church following the services.
