Obituary of Harley Vandermark Townsend

TOWNSEND, Harley Vandermark Age 89 of Horseheads, NY. He was born January 30, 1924 in Atlanta, MI, son of the late James Monroe and Bertha (Niles) Townsend and passed away Monday, April 15, 2013 at Bethany Manor. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Robina, son Jack, grandson Joshua, brother John Niles and sisters Anna Merrill, Ruth Baldwin, Helen Patch and Cara Deprospero. Harley is survived by his son James; daughters and sons-in-law Shirley and Mike Lunger, Bertha and John Anderson; granddaughter Amy (Jeremy) Kryszan; grandsons John and Jamie Townsend; step grandsons Mike (Stacey) Lunger, Dan (Janis) Lunger and Jason Baker; great grandchildren Holly, Christopher and Christina; step great grandchildren Destiny, Lacey, Rachel, Jordyn, Hannah and Jake. Harley retired from F. M. Howell. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Friday, April 19th from 11 am to 1 pm. His funeral service will begin at 1 pm. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. A very special thank you to Marilyn Ross and Randi Kline for their compassionate care they gave to Harley during his stay at Bethany Manor.
