Obituary of Harry M. Mattison

Harry (Marty) Mattison A life-long resident of Elmira, NY, passed away very suddenly on January 10, 2020 at the young age of 57. Marty is survived by his wife Lisa Mattison (Novick); his parents-in-law Edward & Beverly Novick; his children, Jennifer Mattison (Kevin & Lucas Decker); Barbara (Robert) Barnes; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Colleen (Gary) Kaserman; Joseph Novick (Connie); and several brothers & sisters. He is predeceased by his granddaughter Brennley Barnes. Marty was a devoted father and husband who would do anything for everyone. He was a very selfless and proud man with a heart of gold. He had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. He had a sense of humor that was contagious and he knew how brighten anyone's day even if it was just a simple hello passing by. Marty worked for the Elmira City School District for 35 years. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Saturday, January 25th, from 2 to 4 pm. Services will continue from 5 to 8pm with a celebration of Marty's life at the Golden Glow Fire Department. In lieu of flowers, everyone is encouraged to bring pictures and stories to share with the family and friends.
